House guests with Christal Clear Soaps

(Herbs and spices)

To those hosting everyone over for the winter season, cheers to you and all the work that goes into this task. Getting ready for the holidays often consists of doing a lot of chores, shopping for a ridiculous amount of food, and having house guests over. Digging out our recipes, and cooking for days, just to make a meal that gets eaten up in less than half an hour, leaving plenty of leftovers for the days to come. These are the moments that we spend bonding while providing us with a lifetime of memories that help us to shape our holiday traditions as we age.

Having extra toiletries around comes in handy when we have guests over. As a soap maker I am never with soap, and probably have more bars at any one given time than most people, because I test all of the ends and pieces out each time I make a batch of soap. When we have guests that stay here I provide them with some extra toiletries just in case they did not bring any. It is always nice to use your bar of soap when visiting others or having others over at your home. Some bars are soft enough to cut in half or even to take a potato peeler to, shaving off individual slices for single-use soaps! This can be a great way to extend the life of a handmade bar.

Houseguests can show up at any time of the year and sometimes unexpectedly for many reasons. Sometimes we even get to be the house guests. When we stay over or are traveling, I make sure our travel bags are packed. We have a bag packed full of natural toiletries like shampoo & conditioning bars, body butter, liquid coconut oil, colloidal silver, and many other goodies, including soap. It is nice to have these items packed and ready to go and have come in handy often for last-minute travel plans or emergencies. Packing our favorite self-care items can be a simple thing to do that provides a lot of comfort and helps to keep traveling a bit less stressful.

Hangover medication, like electrolytes, are also great things to keep around for the holidays. Spending time talking with loved ones we have not seen in a long time can travel long into the early morning hours while having a few too many glasses of wine or whiskey can happen to the best of us. As we get older hangovers are not a friend to any of us, and keeping hydrated is a good idea. Drinking electrolyte powders, and adding fruits and herbs to your daily intake of water also helps to eliminate the pesky hangover. Melatonin and sleep aids, earplugs for things like airplanes and trades, even the freeway may be an issue for others who are not used to these noises. Keeping items like this in a medical kit can come in handy more than you think.

(Celebrating with food and drinks)

Not everyone eats meat and drinks alcohol, it is always nice to have refreshments that children and those who are not drinking can take part in and feel included also. One of my favorites is to have a sparkling cider or even a virgin hot buttered rum! Some homes are smoking-free, placing an ashtray outside where it is easy to access is also a nice thing to do for those who have guests who smoke. When gathering in groups, acknowledging that many of us have different preferences can help holiday gatherings run a bit smoother. Allowing space for everyone to feel comfortable to be themselves is never underappreciated.

(Pork Chop being open minded)

Being open-minded and with some crowds not talking about politics or subjects that may be a touchy situation. Not everyone believes the same things, often in holiday situations people are drinking and conversations can get intense. Sometimes it is just best to avoid a possibility of a confrontation, to begin with. It is ok to have friends and family who believe in different things and are passionate about different current world affairs, try to look at things from a new perspective and we all just might learn something from each other.

Saying Thank-You after a big dinner is an easy and free gesture of appreciation. Offering to help take out the trash, wash dishes, and pick up after ourselves are all little things to help make the holidays go a little smoother. Having friends and family in one location sometimes can get a little cramped, sharing responsibilities helps to ensure everyone gets to relax a little. Offering to bring a dish and taking items that are your favorite to drink and eat, is also a great way to share traditions of your own with others. Some of us live in regions that will be having snow and ice and offering to shovel for neighbors with guests who are unable to be another way to help others this season. If you have an extra place at the table this year don't forget to invite someone you know over who may not have plans. Happy holidays everyone.

*Thank you to every one of you for supporting me and my dreams of being an artisan soap crafter. Every order is important to me! I appreciate each and everyone who has bought my soaps along the way, either from Etsy, local art shows, local vendor malls, flower shops, and from me.

* All soaps are made by my own two hands, cut, stamped, cured, packaged with hand stamped logos by myself.

* Every bar is a unique piece of functional art and may look just a bit different than the pictured photos. My soaps are all formulated to be used and are not just for display. Colors are all-natural and some get darker or lighter over time. Stamp imprints may be deeper or shallower due to the hardness of each bar.

*Packages are shipped out every two to three days and have a tracking number to follow, from the local post office. Holidays may cause the package to arrive a bit after the set delivery date due to unforeseen weather or holidays. *Please remember to be kind to those delivering packages, during this global pandemic many businesses have been affected and have been running with fewer employees, and more rules and regulations. We are all doing the best we can to keep up!

*No refunds and or exchanges due to the soap being a self-care item and are intended to be used on your person. My customers are important to me and I would like to be able to have the chance to make up for any soaps that may have been damaged or lost in the delivery process. Thank you for understanding.
